Zimmermann Family

Roots in Wisconsin Farming

A private space to reconnect, plan activities, and remember the moments that bind us as a family.

2026 Family Reunion

The Zimmermanns have gathered every few years in Wausau to reminisce and renew family ties. This tradition began with celebrating the birthdays of Esther Boettcher Zimmermann as the matriarch aged into her 80’s and 90’s. It continued after her death in 1997. Her husband, Herbert, died in 1973 at the age of 83.

Esther and Herbert Zimmermann’s grandchildren continue to plan reunion gatherings to honor the rural farm lifestyle that shaped their parents’ and grandparents’ lives and influenced them as youngsters. Reverence for the ancestors who built lives from the land is respected and valued and contributes to the love and bonds that continue today.

Family Video and Audio

When recent generations came together to celebrate at family events it was often documented through video. Laughter and love were captured against the background of a variety of venues, including a sunny summer day on the family farm at the Zimmermann County Fair in 1998.
